Anti Aging Techniques and Products
Anti-aging, anti-oxidants, age reversal...it seems that lately we are being inundated with these popular phrases to make us believe that we can turn back the hands of time on our skin by simply opening up a jar of magic cream. And if you search the internet, you will find anti-aging beauty products everywhere, all claiming to be the only one that works. The truth is aging is a natural process. And unless you are taking care of yourself on a whole, no product will magically reverse these signs.
But do not despair! It is not too late to begin an anti-aging program that really works! The key to true anti-aging lies within your approach to taking care of your entire body system.
Start with cleansing your body of toxins by drinking plenty of water. I know, we have heard it for years, but it is true. Water is a natural detoxifier and the body uses water to expel waste and unused enzymes from your body. If you do not have enough water in your system, your body holds on to the unused waster and enzymes. This shows us in our intestines, our colon, and sometimes our liver. If you want to jump start your detoxification, try a natural detoxification system. Natural products do not contain chemicals that are harmful to the body and are derived from fruits and vegetables.
Next, make sure that you are using natrual skin care products. Your skin is the largest organ on your body and it absorbs everything you come into contact with. Cleansing your body of toxins will do you no good if you are putting harmful chemicals on your skin to be absorbed right back into your body. While aging is a natural process, most SIGNS of aging come from the body's reaction to the harsh chemicals we have been conned into using for years.
Lastly, it is critical that you moisturize your skin...ESPECIALLY if you have oily skin. I know it is shocking that moisturizing is the answer to oily skin. But it is true and here is why. Those of us, myself included, with oily skin typically have over-active oil producing glands. By using standard products that contain alcohol, we end up stripping our skin of ALL oil, including the natural oils that skin needs to be and look healthy. Our skin then over compensates by over producing, thus we create a vicious cycle. And when this cycle is combined with weather changes and our daily environment, we end up with skin that can look old, tired and worn out. Whatever your skin type, choose a moisturizer specifically for the body part and skin type you are targeting. Facial lotions are different than body lotions and should not be used interchangeably. And again, vegan certified products are best as they work in harmony with your body's natural rejuvenation process.
