baby skin care

Baby skin care is extremely important because it is so sensitive. There are many things you should take into consideration when you are thinking about baby skin care.

It is very important that you consider the sun exposure when you are considering baby skin care because a baby’s skin is extremely sensitive. A baby’s skin can burn quickly and sunburn is very painful for your baby.

When you wash your baby with soaps, shampoos, and bubble baths, you should use only the most gentle baby skin care products as possible. Soaps can be harsh on a baby’s skin and cause it to rash or even become dry and chapped. Dry and chapped skin on a baby can quickly crack and bleed and it is very painful for the baby and there isn’t much that will soothe your baby at this point but time.

Babies and children are extra sensitive to the sun, and protecting their skin is paramount. Luckily, with good sun habits, including proper clothing and sunscreen, children can enjoy all sorts of outdoor activities without risking their health.

Children and babies are in a dynamic state of growth, and are therefore more susceptible to environmental threats than adults. Many vital functions such as the immune system are not fully developed at birth, and unsafe environments may interfere with their normal development.

Keep babies out of direct sunlight. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends using sunscreen on infants for small areas such as the face and back of hands where protection from clothing is inadequate. Babies over the age of six months should use a sunscreen. Babies under the age of six months should not be exposed to the sun. Shade and protective clothing are the best ways to protect infants from the sun.

Because children will be exposed to UV radiation for their whole lives, it is important to teach them sun safety practices at an early age. Sunscreen should be applied and reapplied to all exposed areas. By teaching children about sun safety and encouraging them to take sun safety action steps, parents will ensure that their children understand the dangers associated with sun exposure and the ways to avoid them.
